“Paul Fettelaar is a Dutch painter who deserves attention as an inovative artist with a fresh and new approach to the art of painting. His work is the interractive dynamical relation with the model, which is always and only man or women. In his work we can trace three phases. First phase is simple and straight forward approach, which results in very strong impression of men and women who are dominant on the pictures. They are painted in a manner of realistic way of paintings under which lies strong psychological characters. Second phase is time of searching the deeper life philosophy, which results with more detailed portraits. Third phase is somehow the bridge between impresionism and expresionism with the very detailed and gently painted portraits.”
